Imo State Graduating 1st 5000 Youths Trained In Digital Skill

Recall that, the Imo state government says it will empower 100,000 youths through its ‘SkillUpImo Challenge’ and today it graduated 5000 youth across the LGAs. Laptops and other gadgets were shared to beneficiaries

The Governor Hope Uzodimma addressed the youth and he Said

The resourcefulness of Imo youths deserves to be channeled properly in the technological world. This was my drive when we launched the “Skill-up Imo Program” for practical training of our youths in various emerging technologies.

I am delighted today, as we celebrate the graduation of 5000 participants who have successfully completed their training in various areas of the program.

I commended the Commissioner for Digital Economy, Dr. Chimezie Amadi and the facilitators of the training, for a wonderful job they have delivered even as I have charged them to swiftly round up the next batch so that our youths can take over the tech sector in Nigeria.

To support the graduates as they venture into their careers, necessary materials such as laptops and other startup kits have been gifted to all. With the acquired skills and God on our side, we anticipate an Imo State soaring on the digital economy.

On behalf of the Government and good people of Imo State, I specially expressed appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, for all his support to the program and more.

I therefore, call on all others who desire such skills, to approach the Ministry for enrollment and subsequent training. We will never relent in grooming our future leaders with necessary skills for a productive future.

Happy Beneficiaries
